Next few weeks and contactable hours!!!

Hey everyone

Just to let you know what is happening the next few weeks. Monday I am off to Bernabé in the afternoon to visit the three houses, and then I am spending a day in each of the houses on the 23rd, 24th and 26th. I am probably going to spend Christmas night and day with Louis and Maribel’s church in Alpacoma.

Then, on the 27th until the 5th I am in Beni with Bernabé. This is their annual camp which I have had the privilege of being invited to. 

During this time please pray that God would be moving in the hearts of the young people going (27 in total) and that they would also have great fun. Please pray too that we would get permision to take them to Brasil for the day (and that I would get permision too!) as none of them have papers due to their background as street children.

Please also pray that I would make some great friends amongst the staff going and also with the staff I meet in the houses, and also amongst the young people too.

Please note that during my time in Beni I will not be contactable, and also that the Latin Link office in Reading is closed during the holiday from the evening of 24th December to the morning of 5th January.

Copacabana

Hey guys and girls!

Just got back from what was an amazing retreat in Copacabana on the shores of Lake Titicaca! Was an amazing time to just refocus on God and get refuelled ready for the next few months! The views were amazing, and it gave me a real opportunity to spend time with God in prayer and worship!

Sucre this weekend

Hi guys

Tomorrow night (Thursday night) I am catching an overnight bus to Sucre for the weekend, to catch up with the other Stride members I came out with and also Chris our short term coordinator. I will be returning by overnight bus on Sunday night…..

Please pray for the trip – its about 12 hours on the overnight bus (not my idea of fun!) each way. Pray for safety, and also that the time away would be refreshing and fun. I am also hoping I might get a bit of time out which would be good as haven´t had any since arriving well over a month ago.

Will try and post some pictures in the next few days….

Moving tomorrow (Saturday)

Hi guys

Tomorrow I move house – in with a local family with three children (although they are more my age than children!) Please pray for the following

• That the move would go smoothly – have lots to move as I have acquired lots of equipment and resources from someone who has just left the team here. It involves hiring a taxi for a while which can be interesting….
• That I would get on with the family and they would with me – please pray that we would all be encouraging one another in Christ
• For language as I will be relying on my Spanish entirely now!!! God has really blessed me in this area, but that he would continue to bless me in this area!

¡Hola de Bolivia!

¡Hola!

En este momente estoy de buen humor! (First one to email me with a correct translation gets a prize lol!) Just a quick update to let you all know that language lessons are going well, and all in all everything is good fun! This weekend I went to a party held by a youth group and organised lots of crazy games, I did lots of Spanish speaking and also went to a women´s conference!!!!!!!! (Basically Maribel – who I am living with – was the guest speaker and so myself and Louis went up on Sunday to the service which lasted from 9am until 3pm and we left early!!!)

Spanish is going well – es muy dificil, but I am getting there! Also, on the house front I should be moving in with a family for a few months until I finish language training at the weekend. They live in Llojeta which is quite a way out of the centre but is close to where Louis and Maribel live.

Anyway I must go…..

Will try and do a prayer update in the next few days.

Training starts!
